Lots of New This New Year!!

First; I'd like to thank everyone who supported Crafty Day Dreams, your support means so much to me!

Second; I want to wish everyone a very happy and healthy new year. I decided not to partake in the New Year's resolutions this year for a few reasons, the biggest one being that I normal do not succeed very well at them. I have decided to take on some goals for myself instead. One of these goals is to try to blog more and show maybe more in progress stuff. I'd like to maybe do some videos too. Second goal is to get everything that I have made photographed and listed in my stores. Surprisingly I have a ton of items made that I just have not found the time to photograph and list.

Third; Be on the look out for some great new items coming your way this new year. There will be a wide variety of new items appearing in my stores.  Booklaces will be making a appearance after a some good feedback from the lucky person to receive the prototype.  Adjustments have been made and the original improved upon. Start looking for these in the up and coming weeks.  Be sure to keep checking back to see what's been added to the store. :)

New product in the works. A new type of book necklace. Be sure to look for them in the new year. #notebook #necklace #jewelry #pencil #chain #journal #craftydaydreams #notes

Day 31- Needle Felted Heart

Update on New Years Resolutions: -I can't believe I've actually been doing this for a month now. So hoping that I don't run out of ideas. Just in case though if you know of a crafty type tutorial you'd like me to check out post it in the comments and I'll do that as one of my days things.
-As far as the whole diet/exercise thing goes...well I've lost 5 lbs so far. :) But...the exercise is a tough one. It's cold outside, the ground is mushy, and there's still some snow on the ground. (yeah I know, excuses, excuses..) I've been doing the weight watchers thing and I have to say that it's nice to be able to eat whatever with in reason. For instance I blew all my extra point for the week and part of the days on the dirt bomb the other week. This week I don't know what I'll do with them. I should start posting some of the really good recipes that I've been using (with modifications).
-I'm adding on another resolution (better late than never.) I want to purge my house. I want to get dumpsters or start filling up my two tipper barrels. I want to go back to minimalist living, only keeping what we use. I think there might be some good yard sales and donations box trips in my future. Right now I'm wishing that I could find some nice 7" square plates. We find that those work best for dinners and portion control. There seem to be few and far between. I don't want to go out and buy sets of dishes just for the 7" plates as I don't need anything else in the sets. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled.

On to today's crafty creative thing. I'm thinking Valentine's Day for this one. I needle felted a little heart. I'm still not great at needle felting but it's fun. Here's my heart:

New Year and New Things.

Happy New Year Everyone!!! The new year is here, and with that brings new and exciting things. Along with the new year comes those new years resolutions. I have a few resolutions both personal and for the studios.

1. I want to loose weight. (80 lbs would be nice but hey I'd settle for a nice round 50.)
2. I want to get a 100 items listed in my studio.
3. It's the biggest one of them all and will take a lot of discipline...I want to make something everyday.

Item 1. on my list. I got the Weight Watchers Points Plus program for my birthday. :) I am working, or going to be working on watching my points and what I eat better. I will be starting to walk around my yard more often for exercise, our road is a little dangerous to walk on. I started with 10 minutes today and will hopefully work my way up to 30 min and then start picking up the pace. I'll have to see about getting a pedometer to follow the differences in pace but I'm hoping that this is something that I can follow though on.

To help out with the getting 100 items in my studio there will soon be a kids section. I have been working with my oldest, who is autistic, teaching her how to make wonderful things. She is very artistic and uses art/crafts as an outlet for her feelings. She hopes to one day use her artistic skills to become a fashion designer but for now, since I can't follow a pattern or make cloths, I am teaching her other crafts. She has learned how to make lovely hair ties with ribbons and right now as I type she is making paper beads. Santa was nice enough to bring her papers and things to make paper beads. The items that she makes, that pass my approval will be listed in the new section in my studios.

The last one is one that will be, in my opinion the toughest. I want to make something everyday...not dinner or lunch or something I already do on a daily basis...but make/create something. A special dessert, a special dinner (not your standard everyday sorts of things), a new crafty item, a picture, painting, anything creative and fun. I want to do it for this entire year. Geesh, saying that makes it sound like it's forever and that I'm not going to be able to do it. I'll take it one day at a time and see how many days I can do it. It's going to be tough with deadlines for other things coming up but I figure I should be able to at least sketch something or bead something or do something small.

With that said...
DAY 1
Seeing how I love to play with paper, today I made some glass embellishments and magnets.
