Today was rough. Something suddenly hit me last night and I'm now sick :( I felt fine when I was outside today. It was nice and cool, a fall like day only in January. This leads me to believe it's indoor allergy related. :( Could be my dog. He is "blowing his coat," at least that is what the websites call it. It's horrible, bits and pieces, clumps and handfuls of fur everywhere. Thankfully he only does it twice a year, this year it's a little later than others and lasting longer. I think it's because of the strange weather we are having, snow in October nothing since and it has not really been brutally cold like most winters. We're two weeks into January and I still have leeks and celery growing in my garden, maybe not growing great but they are still there. Strange.
Anyway, with yesterday's post were I did some wire writing I figured I put one of those words to use so you could see what they look like when used. I made a Valentine's Day love card. I used some decorative card stock and glued it down to a piece of folded cream colored card stock to make the front. I cut out a pink heart from another piece of card stock and glued that down. I then took some super glue and thinly spread it on the "love" wire word from yesterday and affixed it to the middle of the heart. Viola a card with matching envelope:

Day 9 - Wire Writing
Yep you read the title right and it's just as it sounds. Writing words with wire.
I had some time today so I figured I'd do something a little more involved and time consuming. Wire writing was it. To do wire writing I place different size pegs with different shapes on to boards. Then I take the wire and wrapping it around the pegs. Sometimes after I take it off the pegs and the board I give some of the loops a little twist. These little wire words are great embellishments for cards and scrapbooks.

Day 8 - Eye
Today I decided to do something I haven't done in forever....draw. Armed with pencil and paper I decided to try out a tutorial that was a Daily Deviation on Deviant Art the other day. It's a great tutorial on how to draw eyes by ~ChiyoNemuri. You can find the tutorial here: -Eye Tutorial-
I don't know that I am happy with what I drew...I am my own worst critic. At any rate here's my drawing form that tutorial:

Day 7 - Duct tape book
One of my kids is into duct tape...making things out of it that is. There are rolls of the stuff all over our house. I figured I'd attempt to do a journal recover using some. We had some tye-dye sheets of duct tape in the house. Let me tell you it's definitely not as easy to work with as I thought it would be. It's super sticky, sticks to anything and everything and very, very unforgiving. It creases easily, sticks to itself and you, you can't do a darn thing about it. I thought that having a backing on the sheet would make it easier to use...hell no. I tried cutting out the middle where the cover would be laid so that the edges were still masked off by the backing. Trying to lay the cover exactly in the cut out wasn't easy it didn't go well and then it creased on the cover and there were air bubble. The second cover I took the whole backing off and placed the cover down in the middle just by eying it. That one went better but I don't see myself ever making a ton of things out of this stuff. I found it really frustrating to work with. Anyway here's the book:

Day 6 - The coolest bag clip ever!
So today's creative/crafty thing had to be something relatively quick to do as I've been wicked busy today. On the phone, shipping and running around all over the place, not to mention taking care of the kids and animals. On my way around Michael's today, (yeah I was just there yesterday, I live there,) I found a really large paper clip. The best thing about it was that it was on clearance. I love love love to clearance shop...just as my hubby and the bank account. It cost me a whole $0.20 :) Which was great because not only is it cheap but something we could really use as all of our bag clips seem to disappear. I painted it up with a design and added some stickers and this has to be the coolest bag clip ever:
